When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where the number of candidates in any of the categories listed above exceeds the number of places available, places shall be allocated in accordance with these provisions in the following order: 1. After the first category [1] of 'Catholic Looked After Girls', top priority within a category to an application where compelling evidence of exceptional need is provided at the time of application. 2. Girls who have a sibling already on roll at La Sainte Union and who will continue to attend La Sainte Union during the following year. 3. Girls who have a sibling already on roll at William Ellis School and who will continue to attend William Ellis during the following year. 4. The location of the permanent address of the candidate, with priority within this category being accorded to those living the shortest distance from the school... In the event of a number of candidates being the same distance from the school, a lottery will be used to offer places.
Up to twelve places are reserved for applicants who show aptitude in music, allocated on merit via an Aptitude Test, but with priority always given to Catholic girls within that quota. Multiple births: if only one place is available for siblings applying to the same year group, all will be admitted even if this exceeds the PAN of 120.
