When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked After Children / Previously Looked After Children — Children in Care, also known as Looked After Children (LAC), and children who were looked after but ceased to be so by reason of adoption, a child arrangements order or a special guardianship order, including those who appear to have been in state care outside of England but ceased to be so as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Children of staff — Children of staff who have been employed at the College for at least two years at the time of application or have been recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
3. 3In catchment, named primary school, and sibling at the College — Children who live in the catchment area, attending Girton Glebe Primary School, Histon and Impington Park or Brook Primary Schools, Milton C. of E. Academy, Oakington C. of E. Primary School or Cambridge University Primary School, and who have a sibling at the College (including in the sixth form) at the time of admission.
4. 4In catchment area with a sibling at the College — Children who live in the catchment area with a sibling at the College (including in the sixth form) at the time of admission.

If two applications tie: Where places are oversubscribed within any of the above groups, priority will be given to children living nearest to the College as measured by a horizontal straight line between the College's main entrance and the front door of the dwelling at which the child is normally resident.

PAN of 240 applies to each year group, Years 7-11. Children with an EHCP naming the College are admitted and places reduced accordingly; children with an EHCP that does not name the College are referred to the Statutory Assessment and Resources (STAR) Team (not itself a numbered criterion). 'Sibling' for criteria 3/4/7 can be at the main school or the sixth form. The document does not state how exactly-equal straight-line distances are resolved (no random-allocation clause is given). The College provides for ages 11-16; a separate admissions policy (not this document) covers the sixth form. The source prints 'Admissions Policy: 2025-2026' as a page header even though the title, review cycle and application timetable are all for 2027-2028; cohort_start_year of 2027 is taken from the consistent title/timetable, treating the '2025-2026' header as a stale artifact.
