was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Chesterton Community College, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where places are over-subscribed within any of the above groups, priority is given to children living nearest to the College, measured by a straight line between the College's main entrance and the front door of the dwelling at which the child is normally resident. In the event of a tie break (e.g. identical distance), a random allocation is used, carried out by an independent panel.
Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first (clause 6.1, stated ahead of and separately from the numbered i-x priority list in clause 6.2; children with an EHCP that does NOT name the school are referred to the Statutory Assessment and Resources (STAR) Team). Criterion v's "Park Street Primary School" is named separately from the four schools formally defined as "Feeder Primary Schools in the School Catchment" (footnote 2: St Luke's, Milton Road, Mayfield, Arbury). Sibling is defined as a brother/sister, half-, adopted, step-sibling, or the child of the parent/carer's partner, resident in the same family unit at the same address. This document explicitly does not cover the Sixth Form: "Admission and over-subscription criteria for the Sixth Form can be found on the website" (a link, not reproduced here).
