was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Cromwell Community College, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In each criterion, if there are more applicants fulfilling the criterion than there are places available, priority goes to children living nearest the school as measured by a straight line (Post Office/Ordnance Survey address-point co-ordinates, reported to three decimal places; flats measured to a single point within the building). If the distance between two or more children's home addresses and the school is the same, random allocation is used, independently verified.
Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first, ahead of and outside the lettered oversubscription criteria (stated in Section 3, not itself lettered). Sibling is defined as children aged 4-16 living at the same address in the same family unit (natural, half, step, adopted, a partner's child, or fostered children); children of separate families sharing an address are not siblings under this criterion. Multiple-birth siblings may be admitted as "excepted pupils" above PAN if one twin/sibling is allocated the final PAN place. This document ("Admissions Arrangements for Schools within Cambridgeshire", Active Learning Trust) covers several named Trust schools with a shared set of criteria; PANs for 2027-2028 are: Chesterton Primary School 30, Cromwell Community College (primary phase) 30, Earith Primary School 20, Isle of Ely Primary School 60, Kingsfield Primary School 30, Cromwell Community College (secondary phase) 240, Neale-Wade Academy 240. Criterion A (automatic Year 6 to Year 7 progression) is specific to the secondary phase only and does not apply to primary-phase (Reception) admission, so criteria here begin at B.
