Chalfont Valley E-ACT Primary Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — A 'looked after child' or a child who was previously 'looked after' but immediately after being 'looked after', became the subject of an adoption, residence order or special guardianship order (as defined in the Notes attached).
2. 2Exceptional and Compelling Medical, Psychological, Social or Special Access Reasons — Exceptional and Compelling Medical, Psychological, Social or Special Access Reasons (the definition of which and process to be followed is set out in the Notes attached) which can only be met at the Academy. It is important that additional evidence is required in respect of this (as defined in the Notes attached). Please note that a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must be completed for an application under this criterion within the timescales for the point of entry required.
3. 3Siblings — Siblings (as defined in the Notes attached) of pupils currently on the roll at the Academy at the time of application for the proposed admission of the applicant.
4. 4Catchment area — Children living in the catchment area of the Academy on 29 January 2023. For a map of the school's catchment for the Academy (please see appendix A). This plan is also available on the Admissions page of the Academy's website.
5. 5Pupil Premium / Early Years Pupil Premium / Service Pupil Premium — Children who at the time of the application are eligible for the Early Years Pupil Premium, the Pupil Premium or the Service Pupil Premium (each defined in the attached Notes). Please note that a SIF form must be completed for an application under this criterion within the timescales for the point of entry required.
6. 6Children of staff — Children whose parent/carer is a member of staff who has either been continuously employed at the Academy for two (2) or more years at the time of application for a place or has been recruited to fill a vacancy for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. Please note that a SIF form must be completed for an application under this criterion within the timescales for the point of entry required.
7. 7All other applicants (nearest by distance) — Any other applications of which priority of placement will be given to children who live nearest to the Academy (including if this address is with a parent/carer with shared responsibility for the child or not). The child's home address will be the child's permanent place of residency and must not be a business address, or the address of a relative or carer, unless they have legal custody of the child. Applications must only be made from a single address.

If two applications tie: Home to school distances will be measured in a direct line from a point on the home address as held by Buckinghamshire County Council, defined in the Local Land and Property Gazetteer, (or similar property database) to a central point within the main Academy building using Buckinghamshire County Council's computerised mapping system. Where two or more applicants have a home address at the same distance from Academy and it is necessary to decide which child will be admitted, random allocation will be used. The random allocation process will be independently supervised.

How places were allocated, published by Buckinghamshire Council for the September 2025 intake (How_Places_Were_Allocated_Into_Reception_September_2025_as_at_16_April_2025_JmJ8v8o.xlsx). The council records: "All applicants offered". No cut-off distance exists for this year because every applicant could be offered a place. Infant class size note: Infant Class Size. Places still available after this round: Yes. PAN of 30 is for Reception only. Nursery PAN is 52. Children with an EHCP naming the Academy are admitted prior to oversubscription criteria and are included within the PAN. Catchment area is defined by reference to a map dated 29 January 2023.
