Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at E-ACT Nechells Academy, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Home to school distances will be measured in a direct line from a point on the home address as held by Birmingham City Council, defined in the Local Land and Property Gazetteer, (or similar property database) to a central point within the main Academy building using Birmingham City Council's computerised mapping system. Where two or more applicants have a home address at the same distance from Academy and it is necessary to decide which child will be admitted, random allocation will be used. The random allocation process will be independently supervised.
Nursery PAN is 52 (may be split as part-time places); nursery admission does not guarantee Reception place. Reception PAN is 30. Late applications processed after National Offer Day. Waiting list re-ranked each time a child is added.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
