When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — Children who are looked after by a local authority and children who were previously looked after, as defined (adoption, child arrangement, special guardianship order, or state care outside England).
2. 2Exceptional social or medical needs — Children with exceptional social or medical needs which make the school the most suitable school for the child, evidenced via SIF with professional supporting evidence.
3. 3Foundation Place (up to 121 places) — Applicants satisfying requirements for a Foundation Place based on frequency of Christian worship (child or parent/carer) at least once a month for two years prior to application; sub-priorities: 3a Very regular worshippers (at least twice a month) - A) within Priority Area, B) other; 3b Regular worshippers (at least once a month) - A) within Priority Area, B) other.
4. 4Children of staff — Up to 6 places for children of staff employed by the academy trust for two or more years prior to application, at Manor Church of England Academy.
5. 5Priority Area siblings — Children who live in the Priority Area with siblings who will be on roll at the school at the proposed date of admission.
6. 6Other children in Priority Area — Other children living in the Priority Area (catchment areas of Rufforth Primary, Poppleton Ousebank Primary, St Mary's VC CE Primary School Askham Richard, Skelton Primary, Carr Junior Primary, Copmanthorpe Primary).
7. 7Siblings outside Priority Area — Children who live outside the Priority Area with siblings who will be on roll at the school at the proposed date of admission.
8. 8Other applications - distance, Pupil Premium priority — Other applications for whom no previous criteria applies (previously called distance): (a) pupils eligible for Pupil Premium or Service Pupil Premium ordered closest to furthest; (c) pupils not eligible for Pupil Premium/Service Pupil Premium ordered closest to furthest, measured by GIS walking route distance.

If two applications tie: Where there are fewer places than children in an oversubscription priority as above, in order to decide to whom places will be allocated, the following tie-breakers will be applied: first, to the child(ren) who also fulfil the next highest priority; second, to the child(ren) living closest to the school as defined in priority 6; and third, if the measurement of the distance from home to school above does not distinguish between two or more applicants with equal priority, random allocation will be used as the final tie-breaker, and independently verified.

Priority Area defined as the catchment areas of Rufforth Primary, Poppleton Ousebank Primary, St Mary's VC CE Primary School Askham Richard, Skelton Primary, Carr Junior Primary and Copmanthorpe Primary. Foundation Place and staff-child criteria require completion of a Supplementary Information Form. Pupil Premium/Service Pupil Premium eligibility ranked above non-eligible pupils within the distance criterion (criterion 8), subject to confirmation deadlines.
