St Joseph's Catholic Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Baptised Catholic looked after/previously looked after children — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who are looked after or previously looked after (See Note 3 below).
2. 2Baptised Catholic children in parish with sibling at school — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of St Joseph’s, Malvern or St Wulstan’s, Little Malvern who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
3. 3Baptised Catholic children living in parish — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of St Joseph’s, Malvern or St Wulstan’s, Little Malvern.
4. 4Other baptised Catholic children with sibling at school — Other Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
5. 5Other baptised Catholic children — Other Baptised Catholic children (see note 2 below).
6. 6Non-Catholic looked after/previously looked after children — Non-Catholic children who are looked after or previously looked after (See Note 3 below).
7. 7Non-Catholic children with sibling at school — Non-Catholic children who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
8. 8Non-Catholic children — Non-Catholic children.

If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, the Governing Body will give priority to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (see Note 5). Distances are measured in a straight line using the GeoCode Points for each property and the GeoCode point for the school. Where equal, a random selection (lottery) is used.

EHCP: The admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan is dealt with by a completely separate procedure; children with an EHCP naming the school must be admitted, reducing places available under these arrangements. PAN set at 30 for Reception September 2027. Deferred entry allowed until first day of summer term 2028, subject to compulsory school age rules. Waiting list maintained until last day of summer term 2027, re-ranked as new applicants join. CATCHMENT: Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of St Joseph’s, Malvern or St Wulstan’s, Little Malvern. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Worcestershire County Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
