was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Ormiston SWB Academy, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is an insufficient number of places to accommodate all the children of a particular criterion, the next criterion will be used to assess the applications concerned in order to prioritise applications. If there are not enough places to satisfy all applications under any one criterion, priority will be given to in accordance with proximity to the academy. Where two or more applicants live an equal distance from the academy and it is not possible to differentiate between them, priority will be determined by a random allocation process.
Where a pupil has an Education Health and Care plan which names the academy that pupil will be admitted, and the number of available places reduced accordingly. Document also covers sixth form entry (Year 12) separately with PAN of 60 external applicants and single oversubscription criterion (looked after/previously looked after children) plus tie breaker. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by City of Wolverhampton Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
