Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Year 7), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Random allocation will be used as a tie-break in category 5 to decide who has the highest priority for admission. This process will be independently verified.
PANs are listed per school: Alston Primary School 15, Nenthead Primary School 4, Samuel Kings School 22. The document numbers criteria 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 (skipping 3 in the original text); criteria have been ranked 1–5 in sequence as published. EHCP exception noted separately: 'An exception may be made if a child has an Education, Health and Care Plan which names a Federation School, as in these circumstances the school would have a statutory duty to admit the child concerned.' The admissions timetable references September 2024 which appears to be a drafting error in a policy otherwise stated as 2025/26.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
