Westgate Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after children and all previously looked after children.
2. 2Children adopted through a CVAA UK agency — Children who have been adopted through a CVAA UK agency.
3. 3Children receiving Early Years Pupil Premium — Children who receive the Early Years Pupil Premium for their early years provider. Check your eligibility at: www.warwickshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals
4. 4Children subject to Child in Need/Protection Plan since 1 Sept 2018 — Children who are currently, or have been at any point since 1st September 2018, subject to a Child in Need Plan of a Child Protection Plan.
5. 5Priority area with sibling in Years 1-6 — Children living in the priority area for the school, who will have a sibling attending the same school in Years 1 - 6 at the time of admission in September 2026;
6. 6Other children in priority area — Other children living in the priority area for the school;
7. 7Outside priority area with sibling in Years 1-6 — Children living outside the priority area for the school, who will have a sibling attending the same school in Years 1 6 at the time of admission in September 2026;

If two applications tie: In all cases, decisions are based on the distance between home and school by the shortest walking route, with priority going to those living nearest the school. This may apply equally to those living outside the authority boundaries.

Document covers Warwickshire Community or Voluntary Controlled primary schools generally; cohort year inferred from reference to 'admission in September 2026' for sibling criteria. CATCHMENT: Children living in the priority area for the school Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Warwickshire County Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
