How places were offered at Lawrence Sheriff School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Within all criteria first priority is given to those achieving the highest score in the entrance test. In the case of a tied score priority will be given to children who were eligible for the Pupil Premium/Service Premium at the date of registering to sit the entrance test. Where there is a further need to split any criterion or group of children, places will be offered in accordance with distance between the child's home and school (shortest distance = highest priority). Where there is a further need to split any criterion places will be offered by random allocation.
Selective grammar school; entry dependent on entrance test (11+) and achieving Automatic Qualifying Score or minimum academic standard. Eligibility for entry to Year 7 is restricted to male children. Children with an EHCP naming the school must be admitted and this could reduce places available (not ranked as a criterion). Criteria 4-6 not captured in supplied text (truncated). Also has a Year 12 PAN of 75 places (not detailed in this extract). CATCHMENT: The two catchment areas which are used to apply the oversubscription criteria are as follows: 1. The Eastern Area of Warwickshire - this is described as the following (being the aggregated catchment areas of Bilton, Ashlawn and Avon Valley Schools): Rugby plus the parishes of Dunchurch, Cawston, Thurlaston, Leamington Hastings, Birdingbury, Grandborough, Wolfhamcote, Willoughby, Binley Woods, Brinklow, Brandon and Bretford, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Bubbenhall, Wolston, Church Lawford, Long Lawford, Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Princethorpe, Frankton, Marton, Bourton and Draycote, Churchover, Clifton-upon-Dunsmore, Combe Fields, Cosford, Easenhall, Harborough Magna, Kings Newnham, Little Lawford, Monks Kirby, Newton and Biggin, Pailton, Stretton-under-Fosse, Wibtoft, Willey, Withybrook. 2. The Priority Circle - the centre of which is the Rugby Water Tower and has a radius of 10.004 miles (this includes the Eastern Area). Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Warwickshire County Council school admissions directory. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
