How are Reception places decided at Lime Tree Primary Academy?

When Lime Tree Primary Academy has more applications than places for 2027-28, they are offered in a published order of priority: 1. Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after children and children who were previously looked after. A looked after child is a child who is in the care of a local authority in England, or is being provided with accommodation by a local authority in England in the exercise of their social services functions. Previously Looked After Children are children who were looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order); 2. Catchment area with sibling — Children who live in the catchment area of the requested school, who will have a sibling attending the requested primary school at the time of the applicant's proposed admission (This includes half/step/adopted/foster brothers or sisters, and any other children, who are living at the same address as part of the same family unit); 3. Catchment area — Children who live in the catchment area of the requested school, and 2 further criteria. Tie-break: If the number of applicants within any of the above oversubscription criteria exceeds the number of places available at the School and a tie-break is necessary to determine which child is admitted, the child living closest to the School will be given priority for admission. Random allocation undertaken by another person independent of the Academy and from Trafford Council's Children, Families and Wellbeing Directorate, will be used as a tie-break to decide who has highest priority for admission if the distance between a child's home and the Academy is equidistant in any two or more cases.
