St Peter's Bratton Church of England Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

A looked after child is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority, or (b) being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise of their social services functions (see the definition in Section 22(1) of the Children Act 1989).

11. 11Other children living outside the school's catchment area — Other children living outside of the school's catchment area.

If two applications tie: If there are insufficient places for all children in any one category, places will be allocated on the basis of distance between home and school as measured by straight line distance with those children closest to the school having priority. Random allocation will be used as a tie-break to decide who has highest priority for admission if the distance between two children's homes and the school is the same.

After admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), oversubscription criteria apply. Criteria are split into two tiers: children living in the catchment/attendance area (ranks 3-6) and children living outside it (ranks 7-11), each tier applying sub-criteria a-e/d in order. CATCHMENT: Children who live in the school's defined attendance area. ... Other children living in the school's catchment area. ... St Peter's Bratton has a shared catchment area with Dothill Primary School. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Telford & Wrekin Council determined admission arrangements. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
