When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of the straight-line distance between a central point in the school building and a central point in the child's home. The distances will be measured using the Local Authorities Geographical Information Systems. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each category, attendance of a 'brother or sister' at the school at the time of enrolment increases priority to the top of that category, after category 1. EHCP: Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan that names the school must be admitted (dealt with by a separate procedure, before allocation under these arrangements). PAN of 30 stated as shared/set for both St Patrick's and Shrewsbury Cathedral schools for entry September 2027. Twins/multiple births will be admitted where logistically possible if one child is last ranked within PAN. SIF and proof of baptism required by 15 January 2027. CATCHMENT: Catholic children who are resident in the parish of St Patrick's, Wellington, Telford, Shropshire. (See notes 6 and 7) Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Telford & Wrekin Council determined admission arrangements. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
