Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Christ Church CofE Primary Academy, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If offering places within any one of the criteria would cause the school’s admission number to be exceeded, then children living nearest will be offered first. Places will be given to children who live nearest to the school as determined by a straight line measurement from the child’s home address point to the main entrance of the school. However, if two or more applicants share the same distance to a school and only one place is available, the applicant to whom the place will be offered will be determined by the Local Authority by random selection (unless this involves multiple births, in which case, this is explained in section 1.7 of this policy).
Pupils with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) are considered separately and before everyone else and must be accepted by the school named on their EHCP; they count towards the admission number. Special arrangements apply for multiple births - may admit above PAN. Infant class size limit of 30 applies. CATCHMENT: Children living in the catchment area of the school who have an older brother or sister attending at the time of admission (or at the linked junior school in the case of infant schools). Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Stoke-on-Trent City Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion. | Previously recorded here: Reception "primary school allocated places" (National Offer Day Sept-2025 entry): Stoke-on-Trent City Council, furthest distance admitted (miles) + final criterion. Council overwrites one PDF/yr; prior years = FOI. Non-distance & undersubscribed nulled at source.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
