When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where pupils achieve the same mark for the last available place: priority first to any child entitled to 'preferential consideration'; then, if not differentiated, to the pupil living closest to the school, measured in a straight line from the front door of the child's normal/habitual residence to the nearest pupil entrance, using the Local Authority's computerised measuring system. If the same distance is shared by more than one pupil for one remaining place, the place is awarded by computerised random allocation, supervised by someone independent of the Governing Body.
Looked after/previously looked after children and children with an EHCP naming the school must still pass the selection tests and meet the pass mark before being considered (selective schools are excepted from automatic EHCP admission override). The PAN for each year group (Years 8-11) for 2027 is also stated as 180. In-year ('post-11+') admission to Years 8-11 (Section B) uses separate testing in English, Maths and Science, with candidates needing to score at least in line with the school's own pupils' average in that year group, and is allocated using the school's published admissions criteria for that year group; no separate ordered oversubscription list specific to those year groups is printed in this document.
