Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2024-25 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Fellgate Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
All pupils who have named the school in their EHC plan will be admitted. Where two applications cannot otherwise be separated, the trust allocates the place to the pupil who lives closest to the school. The policy defines the school's catchment area as a 5-mile radius from the school entrance measured as the crow flies, and states that pupils from outside that area are accepted with the oversubscription criteria applied; the radius is not itself one of the ranked criteria. 'Sibling' means any brother or sister related by blood or marriage and any fostered or adopted siblings; trustees and governors count as staff for the staff criterion. Transcribed verbatim from Oak Learning Trust's Admissions Policy 2026-2027, a single policy covering George Washington Primary, John F Kennedy Primary, Springwell Village Primary and Fellgate Primary, published by South Tyneside Council.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
