How places were offered at Christ The King Catholic Primary School, Thornbury, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where children have identical ranking, priority within categories 1, 2, 3 and 5 will be determined by random allocation. For over-subscription categories 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9, priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the child’s home address and the school, using the LA’s computerised measuring system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children, priority will be determined by random allocation.
Within each of the categories listed above, the following provisions will be applied in order: (i) children who will have a brother or sister at the school at the time of enrolment; (ii) children of a member of Christ the King Catholic Primary School staff who has been employed at the school for two or more consecutive years at the time of application, or who was recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage. Twins and siblings from multiple births will, where logistically possible, be admitted together even if this exceeds PAN.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
