When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Distance measured in a straight line by a Geographical Information System (GIS) method from the geocoded point of the school site to the geocoded point of the pupil's home, with shorter distance receiving higher priority. Where two or more distances are exactly equal, the order is decided by the drawing of lots supervised by a person entirely independent of the Wessex Learning Trust.
This document covers multiple academies within the Wessex Learning Trust with different PANs per school (listed in the introduction table). The Kings of Wessex Academy has a Year 12 PAN of 15 for external applicants and minimum academic entrance requirements published separately. Staff children priority applies only at the school where the staff member is physically located (or majority of time if working across multiple schools). The document header states 2027/2028 but section 3 heading references September 2026 — the introduction and deadlines confirm the arrangements are for September 2027 entry.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
