was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Castlefields Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event that two individual applications are exactly the same after all other criteria have been taken into account a tie breaker will be used. This will be by random allocation and overseen by an independent party not connected with the admissions process. Within any category, priority is given on the basis of distance measured as a straight line on a computerised mapping system between the home address and the nearest appropriate entrance gate of the school by pinpointing their eastings and northings. The shortest distance will be given priority. Where two addresses are within the same block of flats, the lowest number of flat or nearest the ground floor will be deemed to be the nearest in distance.
This is a multi-school trust policy covering nine academies: Alveley Primary School (PAN 15), Belvidere School (PAN 168), Castlefields Primary School (PAN 30), Church Stretton School (PAN 96), Mary Webb School (PAN 120), Meole Brace School (PAN 270), Oldbury Wells School (PAN 168), St Leonards C.E Primary School (PAN 48), Stokesay Primary School (PAN 30). Separate oversubscription criteria sets exist for primary schools and secondary schools, with some priorities applying only to specific named secondary schools (Belvidere, Meole Brace, Church Stretton, Mary Webb, Oldbury Wells). EHCP children naming the school are admitted before all oversubscription criteria apply. Multi-birth policy: where the last child admitted is a multi-birth, the school will not separate the children and will admit multi-births together.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
