When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Tie Break: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the front door of the child’s home address (including the community entrance to flats) and the main entrance of the school using the local authority’s computerised measuring system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Provisions applied inside every category (they are not separate ranks), quoted: Within each of the categories listed above, the following provisions will be applied in the following order. (i) Where compelling professional written evidence is provided at the time of application of an exceptional social, medical or pastoral need of the child which can most appropriately be met at this school, the application will be placed at the top of the category in which the application is made. (ii) The attendance of a sibling at the school at the time of enrolment will increase the priority of an application within each category so that the application will be placed at the top of the category in which the application is made after children in (i) above. The Governing Body will, where possible, admit twins and all siblings from multiple births where one of the children is the 30th child admitted. The document is headed 'ST WILFRID’S CATHOLIC VOLUNTARY ACADEMY ADMISSIONS POLICY 2027-28'; it names the school 'St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School' in the paragraph on the Local Academy Committee and says 'St Wilfrid’s School is a Catholic Primary School in St Clare Catholic Multi Academy Trust'; the Supplementary Information Form is referred to as attached but its text is not in the document. Children with an EHCP or Statement naming the school must be admitted (not numbered as a criterion). Note 8 refers to the 'other Christian denominations' definition 'at 6 above' although it is printed as note 7.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
