was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at The Ursuline Academy Ilford, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the front door of the child’s home address (including the community entrance to flats) and the main entrance of the school, with those living nearest being given priority. Distance will be measured along the shortest walking route by public roads and recognised safe footpaths, using the London Borough of Redbridge Geographical Information System. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each of the categories listed above, two further provisions are applied in order: (i) exceptional social, medical or pastoral need moves an application to the top of its category; (ii) attendance of a sister at the school at the time of enrolment increases priority within the category after (i). Twins and siblings from multiple births will, where logistically possible, be admitted together if one child is the last ranked within PAN. Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the school must be admitted and this is handled by a separate procedure before allocation under these arrangements.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
