Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
Last distance offered at Lowe's Wong Infant School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of oversubscription within any criterion except the first, preference will normally be given to the child living nearest the school as the crow flies. Distances are measured from the entrance to the child's home to the principal entrance of the school using Nottinghamshire County Council's computerised distance measuring software. Where two or more applicants are equal in all respects and it is therefore not possible to differentiate between them, a method of allocation by drawing lots will be used to allocate the places (supervised by someone independent of the school).
Special consideration: Children whose particular medical needs, mobility support needs, special educational needs or social circumstances are supported by written evidence from a doctor, social worker or other relevant professional at the time of application, and where it can be demonstrated that Lowe's Wong Infant School is the only school that can meet these needs. Admission under special consideration will have priority over all but the first of the oversubscription criteria. Infant class size limit of 30 applies.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
