Welsh school profiles just got a major upgrade: over 2,000 historic Estyn inspection judgements (2010–2022) now appear with scored history charts, every school's current Estyn follow-up status is freshly synced from the live register, school budgets and reserves are complete for all five recent years, and 17 newly registered Welsh schools have joined the directory — every figure traced to the published report or official dataset it came from.

Northern Ireland school profiles just got their biggest upgrade yet: applications-vs-places admissions data for 188 post-primary and 758 primary schools (how many families applied, how many got in), school budgets for over 1,000 schools, teacher numbers and pupil-teacher ratios for around 1,100 schools across four years, and the latest ETI inspection outcomes with links to the full reports — every figure from the Department of Education, the Education Authority or ETI, with the source linked.
Northern Ireland exam results updated: 2037 records across 1117 schools.
Northern Ireland exam results updated: 343 records across 186 schools.
Northern Ireland exam results updated: 1998 records across 1098 schools.
Scotland just got our biggest single-day data upgrade. Scottish league tables now rank on the 2024/25 results — the most recent the Scottish Government has published — covering National 5s, Highers and Advanced Highers for every state secondary. Every Scottish secondary's profile gained a Leaver Outcomes section: the share of leavers going on to university, college, work or training, the size of the leaving cohort, and literacy and numeracy pass rates, each shown against the Scotland average. Pro members can now follow ten years of a school's results history (2015/16 to 2024/25), see how attainment differs across deprivation backgrounds at the same school (the SIMD equity picture behind the headline pass rates), and check attendance, absence and persistent-absence rates for around 2,400 Scottish schools. Two things parents can't easily find anywhere else: every council-run school in Scotland now shows its official building condition and suitability ratings (the A-to-D bands councils report to the Scottish Government, on around 2,400 schools), plus teacher numbers, pupil-teacher ratios and average class sizes. Accuracy got stricter too: every figure on a Scottish school page is now that school's own published number — never a council average standing in for it — and where the Scottish Government withholds a small school's figure to protect pupils' privacy, we show nothing rather than a guess. Finally, Education Scotland inspection histories were repaired for 839 schools whose most recent inspection wasn't being counted in their inspection story.

Council application and offer figures refreshed for 152 councils

We've added the published admission criteria for around 1,400 more schools across England. If you're looking at a school in Norfolk, Devon, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Somerset, Worcestershire, Hertfordshire, Lancashire, Essex, Hampshire, Birmingham, Surrey, Kent, Cambridgeshire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, North Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Bristol, the Cheshires, County Durham, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Kirklees, or one of the London boroughs (Croydon, Lambeth, Greenwich, Ealing, Barnet, Bromley, Wandsworth, Merton, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster) — you'll now see the ranked rules that school uses to decide who gets a place when there are more applicants than spots: siblings, distance, faith requirements, feeder schools, looked-after-children priority. Every entry comes from the school's own published admission arrangements with a link back to the source document. Where a school doesn't publish an ordered list, the section stays blank rather than us guessing.

This week we made comparing schools easier across the whole UK. Wales now has its own league-table page, alongside Scotland and Northern Ireland's. Every Northern Ireland school in the tables now links to its full inspection report, and rank arrows show whether a school has moved up or down since last year. Sixth-form tables have a new toggle to hide specialist Maths schools — useful if you're comparing regular sixth forms side by side. Five new tools have landed on our SEND and mental-health guides: an EHCP deadline calculator that works out the dates your council has to respond by; a Pupil Premium eligibility check; a finder for schools that specialise in social, emotional and mental-health needs; a step-by-step picker for what to do when a child won't go to school; and a quick check on whether you've got grounds to appeal a school place refusal. Compare pages now show which trust or academy chain each school belongs to, plus the ranked criteria it uses to choose between applicants when there are more applications than places. Where a school doesn't publish a figure, we leave the cell blank rather than guess.

Big expansion of admissions and catchment data. We've added the determined oversubscription criteria for thousands more schools: LA-coordinated community/voluntary-controlled criteria for Hertfordshire, Surrey, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Bradford, Buckinghamshire, Sheffield and a refreshed Birmingham, plus Flintshire (the first Welsh authority); and the individual published criteria for every school in the Sigma Trust, Greenshaw Learning Trust and Hackney's own-admission-authority schools — including how banded and aptitude intakes (e.g. Grey Coat, Holland Park, Mossbourne, Wallington Grammar) actually allocate places, now shown on the school page. We also added verified council catchment-area boundaries for Devon, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Norfolk and Bristol (every polygon matched to its exact school), and last-year furthest-offer distances for Birmingham and Southwark. Every figure is taken from the authority's or school's own published arrangements with a link to the source; where a school does not publish an ordered list, nothing is shown rather than a guess.

School pages now show the actual oversubscription criteria — the ranked rules a school uses to decide who gets a place when it has more applicants than places. We've added the determined community and voluntary-controlled criteria for 17 English local authorities (including Hampshire, Lancashire, Essex, Kent and Birmingham), plus the individual published criteria for selective grammar, faith and academy schools that set their own — including Kent-Test detail for 22 Kent grammars. Every entry is extracted from the authority's or school's own published admission arrangements with a link back to the source; where a school does not publish an ordered list, nothing is shown rather than a guess.
