was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Cringle Brook Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Proximity to school is used as a tie-breaker, those living closest being given priority. On the rare occasion where the offer of places to applicants with equal-distant addresses would lead to oversubscription, the decision of who will be offered the place will be made by a random selection drawn by a senior officer outside of the education service.
The Trust has adopted the Manchester City Council Admissions Policy for 2026-2027. The criteria above are for the Primary Admissions Round (Reception). Separate In-Year Admissions criteria also exist with 5 categories (adding Category 4 – children who have moved into Manchester and are without an offer of a school place). Individual PANs are listed per school: Green End Primary School – 60, Ladybarn Primary School – 60, Cringle Brook Primary School – 30. Distance measured in a straight line using LLPG and the LA's computerised measuring system.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
