The Priory Belvoir Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after children, or previously looked after children.
2. 2Children who live in the catchment area — Children who live in the catchment area. The catchment area is shown on the map at the end of these arrangements.
3. 3Siblings on roll at time of application — Siblings of pupils who are on the roll of the academy at the time of application.
4. 4Children of staff — Children of a member of staff of the academy who has been employed at the academy for two or more years at the time of the application, or who has been appointed to a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
5. 5Children attending a feeder school — Children who attend a feeder school at the time of application. The feeder schools for Priory Belvoir Academy are: Bottesford Church of England Primary School; Buckminster Primary School; Croxton Kerrial Church of England Primary School; Harby Church of England Primary School; Hose Church of England Primary School; Long Clawson Church of England Primary School; Redmile Church of England Primary School; Scalford Church of England Primary School; Stathern Primary School; Waltham on the Wolds Church of England Primary School. Buckminster Primary School and Scalford Church of England Primary School are also feeder schools to John Ferneley College.
6. 6Nearest by straight-line distance — Children who live nearest to the academy measured by the straight-line distance from the child's home address to the academy's main entrance.

If two applications tie: In the event that two or more applicants under criterion (f) live the same straight-line distance from the academy, the place or places will be allocated at random by a person independent of the academy and Leicestershire local authority.

Distance for criterion (f) and the tie-break is measured in a straight line by Leicestershire County Council using a computerised mapping system (Mapinfo) from the centre point of the child's home property to the gate at the main entrance to the academy on Barkestone Lane, Bottesford. Pupils with an EHC plan naming the academy are admitted before oversubscription criteria are applied (not itself a numbered criterion). Waiting lists (called 'oversubscription lists') close on 31 December each year; the Fair Access Protocol takes precedence over the waiting list.
