When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after Children and previously Looked after Children — Looked after Children and previously Looked after Children. (see supplementary notes attached)
2. 2Catholic children from named feeder primary schools — Catholic children from the following Catholic feeder primary schools: St. Mary’s & St. Benedict’s, Bamber Bridge; Our Lady & St. Gerard’s, Lostock Hall; St. Patrick’s Walton le Dale; St. Joseph’s, Brindle; St. Bede’s, Clayton Green.
3. 3Catholic children in designated parishes — Catholic children living in the designated parishes named below: Brownedge St. Mary’s, Bamber Bridge; Our Lady & St. Gerard’s, Lostock Hall; Our Lady & St. Patrick’s Walton le Dale; St. Joseph’s, Brindle; St. Bede’s, Clayton Green; and St. Mary and St John Southworth, Samlesbury
4. 4Catholic children with sibling at the school — Catholic children who have a sibling at the school at the time of admission. This includes full, half or step-brothers and sisters, foster brothers and sisters and children living at the same address and part of the same family unit.
5. 5Other Catholic children — Other Catholic children.
6. 6Non-Catholic children attending feeder primary schools — Non-Catholic children attending one of the Catholic feeder primary schools named in criterion 2 above.
7. 7Non-Catholic children with sibling at the school — Non-Catholic children who have a sibling at the school at the time of admission. This includes full, half or step-brothers and sisters, foster brothers and sisters and children living at the same address and part of the same family unit.
8. 8Children of staff at the school — a) Where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, and/or b) the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
9. 9Children from other Christian denominations — Children from other Christian denominations. Proof of Baptism in the form of a Baptismal certificate or confirmation in writing that the applicant is a member of their faith community from an appropriate Minister of Religion is required.
10. 10Children of other faiths — Children of other faiths. An appropriate faith leader would need to confirm in writing that the applicant is a member of their faith group.
11. 11Other Children — Other Children.

If two applications tie: Where there are more applicants for the available places within a category, then the distance between the Ordnance Survey address points for the school and the home address, measured in a straight line, will be used as the final determining factor nearer the addresses having priority over more distant ones. Where the cut off point for the addresses within the same building, then the single measure between address points will apply and the Local Authority’s system of a random draw will determine which address(es) receive the offer(s).
