When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is one place available and two or more children next in order of priority or next on the waiting list meet the appropriate criterion equally, the place will be allocated using the distance criterion. If the distances are equal, the LA’s database will randomly order these.
Where the final place is offered to a child who has a twin/triplets etc. applying for a place in the same school year, these siblings will also be admitted, even if this means temporarily going over the published admission number.
