When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 10), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of two or more applications that cannot otherwise be separated, the school uses random allocation as a tie-break, made with an electronic random sorter and an appointed independent Space Studio administrator drawing the names.

The Space Studio admits at YEAR 10 with an agreed admission number of 75 (and a separate post-16 number of 75 for Year 12). Applications are BANDED: applicants are placed in one of three ability bands, high, middle and low, by a Numeracy Test score, and the criteria above are applied within each band.
