Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Year 7), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Wykham Park, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority is given to children living closest to the school; home-to-school distance is measured via Oxfordshire County Council's GIS, from a 'seed point' at the child's home address, following the nearest available walking route along mapped roads/paths (Ordnance Survey MasterMap Highways Network) to the nearest school gate. Where two or more applicants live at the same measured distance, places are allocated by random order using the Local Authority's admissions database.
The document contains an internal inconsistency on PAN: the 'ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS APPROVED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE' section and the final determination paragraph both state the PAN for Year 7 in 2027/28 was determined as 150 (reduced from an initial proposal of 180, approved 23 February 2026), matching the version-control history at the top of the document; however, a separate paragraph states the Academy 'is consulting on a proposal to reduce the PAN for Year 7 entry in September 2027 from 180 to 120' (consultation 1 Dec 2025 - 26 Jan 2026) — this 120 figure is not reconciled elsewhere in the document and appears to be leftover from an earlier draft; 150 is used here as the figure stated in the 'approved'/'determined' sections. Sibling criterion excludes a sibling in Year 11 at time of application (unless the SCAF records an expressed intention to stay into Year 12) and excludes a sibling in Year 13.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
