When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
See every school within walking distance, ranked by distance and inspection grade.
If two applications tie: If there are more applications that fulfil the above criteria than spaces available, the Governors will apply a random allocation system to allocate the available places. This system will be supervised by someone independent of the school.
This document sets out criteria for boarding admissions specifically, applying to Year 7 to 13. All applicants must attend interview to establish suitability for boarding. Conditions of entry include UK citizenship or passport eligibility, suitable guardian within one hour's journey if parents abroad, ability to pay fees, and agreement to Principles Aims and Practice. Children qualifying for day places by residence are not given priority to board. Applications may be made for EITHER day OR boarding, not both.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
