was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Upminster Infant School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If oversubscription occurs and it is not possible to distinguish which pupil is to be offered the final place because the home to school distance is equal, the pupils concerned will be selected by random selection.
This document covers 5 Havering-based schools within Hornchurch Academy Trust, each with its own published admission number (Scargill Infant/Junior 60, Whybridge Junior 90, Upminster Infant/Junior 90) - no single PAN applies to all. The criteria above are those published for Reception applications. For Junior (Year 3) applications, an additional criterion is inserted after 'Looked after children': 'Children who attend the partner infant school and are transferring between Year 2 and Year 3', shifting sibling, staff and distance criteria down to ranks 3, 4 and 5 respectively, with the same tie-break and random allocation rule applied.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
