was the furthest place offered for 2026-27 (Reception). The council's figures don't show whether anyone was refused, so it may not have been a cut-off.
Last distance offered at Scargill Infant School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If oversubscription occurs within a criterion, distance of the applicant's home address from the school (straight line) is used, nearer pupils given higher priority. If distance is equal, random selection is used.
This document covers five separate Havering schools within the Hornchurch Academy Trust, each with its own Published Admission Number (Scargill Infant 60, Scargill Junior 60, Whybridge Junior 90, Upminster Infant 90, Upminster Junior 90) but sharing the same ordered oversubscription criteria framework. A separate, slightly different ordered list applies specifically to Junior (Year 3) applications, adding 'Children who attend the partner infant school and are transferring between Year 2 and Year 3' as criterion 2, shifting sibling/staff/distance down by one rank (Sibling=3, Staff=4, Distance=5).
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
