was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2015-16 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Eggar's School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If oversubscription occurs within any category, remaining places are offered based on proximity of the child's home address to the school, measured in a straight line from the Ordnance Survey home address point to the school address point using Hampshire County Council's GIS. Where two or more applicants share equal priority (e.g. equidistant), the place is allocated by random selection, drawn from a container in the presence of at least two senior officers from the Weydon Multi Academy Trust Central Team who are independent of the school's admissions process. For multiple births or siblings born in the same academic year, if one child is offered a place, the other(s) will also be offered a place if ranked consecutively, even if this exceeds the PAN (no further places are then offered until the total falls to PAN minus one).
Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the school are also admitted and count within the PAN (stated ahead of the numbered list, not itself a numbered criterion). Waiting lists for Year 7 (Spring/Summer Terms) are ranked using the admissions criteria excluding Criterion 5 (linked schools).
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
