When Foxyards Primary School has more applications than places for 2027-28, they are offered in a published order of priority: 1. Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked After Children Previously looked after children are children who were previously looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order) immediately following having been looked after, and those children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted; 2. Serious and ongoing medical condition — Children with a "serious and ongoing medical condition" where Foxyards Academy is the most appropriate school to meet the condition. Parents must provide supportive information from their child's Hospital Consultant at the time of application in order to be considered under this criteria. This supportive information should include information about the needs of the child and should detail the difficulties the child would experience if they attended another school. Parents should also indicate why Foxyards Academy is the most appropriate to meet their child's medical condition rather than any other school. We will not seek to obtain medical evidence on behalf of parents; 3. Siblings — Children who have a brother/sister, half-brother/sister (where the children share one common parent), step-brother/sister, or foster sibling, living at the same address and who will still be attending Foxyards Academy in the academic year 2027-28, and 1 further criteria. The school offers 45 places at this entry point. Tie-break: Random allocation will be used as a tie-break in category (d) above to decide who has the highest priority for admission if the distance between two children's homes and the school is the same.

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked After Children Previously looked after children are children who were previously looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order) immediately following having been looked after, and those children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2Serious and ongoing medical condition — Children with a "serious and ongoing medical condition" where Foxyards Academy is the most appropriate school to meet the condition. 3Siblings — Children who have a brother/sister, half-brother/sister (where the children share one common parent), step-brother/sister, or foster sibling, living at the same address and who will still be attending Foxyards Academy in the academic year 2027-28.
4Distance — Any places that remain available once the above applicants have been admitted, will be filled according to those children who live closest to the school, determined by a straight-line measurement in metres, from the home address to the main entrance of the school via LA software.

If two applications tie: Random allocation will be used as a tie-break in category (d) above to decide who has the highest priority for admission if the distance between two children's homes and the school is the same.

A child with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which names the school will be admitted before oversubscription criteria are applied. Special conditions apply for twins/triplets: the Council will exceed the admission number to prevent separation. Deferred entry permitted until compulsory school age or term after, per Dudley LA arrangements. Document is Manor Multi Academy Trust policy (adopted by MAT, final version approved 18 Nov 2025) covering nine schools; only Foxyards Academy (Dudley school) extracted per index request. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Dudley MBC admission arrangements directory. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
