Distance depends on the band here
Harris Academy South Norwood admits by banding: applicants are placed into bands and each band is filled separately, so there is no single last-offer distance. Each band has its own, and which one applies depends on your child's assessment — so one number could not answer this for every child.
How the bands work: The Academy uses banding in Year 7 admissions: all children take a non-verbal reasoning test standardised against the national distribution of abilities, are ranked and placed into nine bands from highest to lowest ability, with places allocated to each band according to national percentage distributions; oversubscription criteria and tie breaker are then applied within each band. Remaining places are filled from adjacent bands, starting with the lower ability band and then alternating.

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Distance between the child's home address and the Academy, measured via the London Borough of Croydon's GIS in a straight line using NLPG reference points, with those living nearest receiving highest priority; where distances are equal, random allocation supervised by someone independent of the Academy.
Children with an EHC plan naming the Academy are admitted first by law, before banding and oversubscription criteria are applied (paragraphs 4.2 and 6.5).
