was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at St Vincent's Catholic Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2023-24 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the front door of the child's home address (including the community entrance to flats) and the main entrance of the school using the local authority's computerised measuring system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school. All the names will be entered into a hat and the required number of names will be drawn out.
This is a trust-wide policy covering six schools: St Anthony's Catholic Primary and Nursery School (PAN 60), St Ethelbert's Catholic Primary and Nursery School (PAN 60), St Margaret of Scotland Catholic Primary School (PAN 60), St Martin de Porres Catholic Primary School and Nursery (PAN 60), St Mary's Catholic Primary School and Nursery (PAN 30), St Vincent's Catholic Primary School and Nursery (PAN 30). Within each category, sub-priorities apply: (i) exceptional social or medical need, (ii) sibling attendance, (iii) all others.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
