was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Ashton St Peter's VA C of E School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: The tie break will be the distance the pupil lives from the school, measured in a straight line, using the Local Authority's computerised mapping system, with those living closer to the school receiving the higher priority. The distance will be measured from the address point of the pupil's home to the front door of the school. (In the event of children living in a block of flats priority will be given to the child whose flat number is the lower. Where two children live equidistantly from the school random allocation will be used.)
The policy is ratified January 2026 for academic year 2027/2028. Priority is also given to pupils admitted under the Fair Access Protocol even if the class is full. Note 3 defines 'other Christian Church' as one belonging to or eligible for membership of Churches Together in Great Britain and Ireland, the Evangelical Alliance, or the Dunstable Fellowship of Evangelical Churches. Twins/multiples: where the last available place is offered to a twin or multiple birth child, the governors will admit the other twin or multiple birth(s) as an exception to the infant class size rule.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
