When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Baptised Catholic looked after or previously looked after children — Baptised Catholic looked after or previously looked after children.
2. 2Baptised Catholic siblings — Baptised Catholic brothers or sisters of pupils already in the school at the time of determination and who will be pupils at the time the applicant commences at the school.
3. 3Baptised Catholic, catchment, designated Catholic primary — Baptised Catholic children (a) residing in the catchment area and (b) attending a designated Catholic Primary School.
4. 4Baptised Catholic, catchment, non-designated Catholic primary — Baptised Catholic children (a) residing in the catchment area and (b) attending a non-designated Catholic Primary School.
5. 5Baptised Catholic children residing in catchment area — Baptised Catholic children residing in the catchment area.
6. 6Other baptised Catholic children — Other Baptised Catholic children.

8. 8Siblings of pupils already in the school — Brothers or sisters of pupils already in the school at the time of determination and who will be pupils at the time the applicant commences at the school.
9. 9Catchment area, designated Catholic primary — Children (a) residing in the catchment area and (b) attending a designated Catholic Primary School.
10. 10Catchment area, active in Christian denomination — Children residing in the catchment area who can demonstrate with a letter of support from a minister or person in authority, that particularly in the previous year, they have actively engaged in supporting a Christian denomination.
11. 11Catchment area, active in non-Christian faith — Children residing in the catchment area who can demonstrate with a letter of support by a person in authority, that particularly in the previous year, they have actively engaged in supporting a non-Christian faith.
12. 12Other children residing in catchment area — Other children residing in the catchment area.

If two applications tie: If the governors are unable to admit all applicants within a particular category, priority will be given to those residing closest to the school measured by Cardiff Council using the method set out in the Cardiff Council School Admissions Policy.

For categories 1 and 6 the applicant must be a Baptised Catholic. For categories 7 to 13 a child is not required to be a Baptised Catholic. Proof that a child is Baptised Catholic is required with every application (baptismal certificate or letter from parish priest confirming reception into the Catholic church). Proof of residential address required at time of application. Brothers and sisters include children with at least one common parent (including adopted children); children of multiple births will all be admitted to a single year if one can be offered a place. Waiting list retained: Year 7 applications until 31 December following receipt; in-year applications until 31 August following receipt. Applicants remain on waiting list even if appealing. Two applications required for normal Year 7 admissions round: LA online application via Cardiff Council and Corpus Christi Catholic High School online application via school website. Key 2027 dates: applications open 21 September 2026; closing date 30 October 2026; notification of offers 1 March 2027; acceptance/rejection deadline 15 March 2027; closing date for statutory appeals 15 March 2027.
