Westfield Junior School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Children in Care / previously in care — Children in Care, previously known as Looked After Children (LAC), and children who were previously Children in Care but ceased to be so by reason of adoption, a residence order (now known as a child arrangement order) or special guardianship order and Children who appear to have been in state care outside of England and ceases to be in state care as a result of being adopted
2. 2In catchment, at partner infant school, with sibling — Children who live in the catchment area, attend the partner infant school and who have a sibling at the school (or the partner infant school) at the time of admission.
3. 3In catchment with sibling — Children who live in the catchment area who have a sibling at the school (or the partner infant school) at the time of admission
4. 4In catchment, at partner infant school — Children who live in the catchment area and who are attending the partner infant school.
5. 5In catchment — Children living in the catchment area.
6. 6Outside catchment, at partner infant school, with sibling — Children who live outside the catchment area, but who are attending the partner infant school and have a sibling at the school (or the partner infant school) at the time of admission.
7. 7Outside catchment with sibling — Children who live outside the catchment area but have a sibling at the school (or the partner infant school) at the time of admission.
8. 8Outside catchment, at partner infant school — Children who live outside the catchment area, but who attend the partner infant school.
9. 9Children of staff — Children of members of staff, provided that they have been employed for a minimum of two years and/or are recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage.
10. 10Outside catchment, nearest — Children who live outside the catchment area, but nearest the school as measured by a straight line.

If two applications tie: Under each criterion, in cases of equal merit, priority will go to children living nearest the school as measured by a straight line.

Local-authority coordinated oversubscription criteria for Cambridgeshire County Council's community and voluntary-controlled JUNIOR schools (section 4.2 'Criteria for Junior Schools' of the determined 2027-28 arrangements; the council is the admission authority). Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
