When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the case of an oversubscription in any category, children will be admitted in order of proximity of the child's permanent address to the school, using the Local Authority's GIS distance measurement. If two or more children live an equal distance from the school, the decision on which child will be allocated will be made using random allocation, independently verified.
The document describes this as arrangements for 'entry to Reception in September 2027', but Riverside Junior School is listed as a Junior school for ages 7 to 11 years (Community), so the normal point of entry is Year 3, not Reception. This appears to be a template/wording inconsistency in the source document.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
