was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2025-26 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Wesley Methodist Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is over-subscription in any category, places will be offered using a straight line distance measurement from home to school, measured using the Local Authority's computerised mapping system (address point to address point, per Bury Council's LLPG). Where the final place can be taken by two or more children living an equal distance from the school, the Local Authority will then use random allocation to decide which of the children can be offered a place.
This is a Bury Local Authority-wide admissions policy template applied to Wesley Methodist Primary School (a community/academy/voluntary controlled primary school policy); the sibling criterion text retains an apparent unamended reference to 'September 2022' despite applying to September 2026 entry. No explicit faith-based oversubscription criterion is printed despite the school's Methodist designation.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
