was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2025-26 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Greenhill Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is over-subscription in any category, places will be offered using a straight line distance measurement from home to school. The distance will be measured using the Local Authority’s computerised mapping system... Where the final place in a year group can be taken by two or more children living an equal distance from the school, the Local Authority will then use random allocation to decide which of the children can be offered a place.
The governing body of Greenhill School has formally adopted the Bury Primary School Admissions Policy, so the criteria that apply here are the council’s coordinated ones for community and voluntary-controlled schools rather than rules of the school’s own. The school will admit pupils up to a published intake limit of 30, and reserves the right not to support an admission that exceeds it. Applications outside the normal admissions cycle are considered in the same way as applications for Reception.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
