Iver Village Infant Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after and previously looked after children.
2. 2Exceptional medical or social needs — Children who have exceptional medical or social needs, which can only be met at that school, supported by written evidence from an appropriate professional person.
3. 3Children of staff — Children of staff where either: the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, or the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
4. 4Linked primary school attendance — Children attending a primary school linked to the school named in the list of 'linked primary' schools at the time the allocations are made (March 2025). This rule does not apply to those starting school in Reception.
5. 5Catchment area — Children living within the catchment area of the school.
6. 6Siblings (main point of entry) — For the main point of entry: siblings of children who are attending the school or a 'linked primary' school in Year R to Year 2 at the time the allocations are made (March 2025), and are expected to be on the school roll or linked school roll at the time of the proposed admission, or who have already been offered a place to start in the current academic year at the school or a 'linked primary' school.
7. 7Siblings (in-year admission) — For immediate in year admission after the normal point of entry: Siblings of children who are in Year R to Year 2 at the time of admission to the school.
8. 8Distance — Once the above rules have been applied, then any further places will be offered in distance order; using the distance between the family's Normal Home Address and the school's nearest entrance gate offering the closest first. We use straight line distance.

If two applications tie: If it is still not possible to decide between two applicants who are equidistant then an independently scrutinised random allocation will be made to allocate the final place.

How places were allocated, published by Buckinghamshire Council for the September 2026 intake (How_Places_Were_Allocated_Into_Reception_September_2026_as_at_16_April_2026.xlsx). The council records: "All applicants offered". No cut-off distance exists for this year because every applicant could be offered a place. Infant class size note: Infant Class Size. Places still available after this round: Yes. PAN table in document is headed '2025/2026' though the policy title and stated academic year of application is 2026/2027; figure of 60 given for Reception (R). EHCP admission is mentioned as a pre-condition ('after the admission of pupils with statements of special educational needs that name the Academy') but is not itself numbered as a criterion.
