was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Charles Darwin School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where there are more applications than places remaining in any of the oversubscription categories set out above, the order in which places will be allocated will be determined by the distance between the child's home address and the school, with those living nearest receiving highest priority. Distance will be measured (in a straight line) from the unique national grid reference (Easting and Northing) of the child's home address... Where applications are received from flats that have the same 'easting and northing' measurements, places will be allocated by door number; in ascending order numerically and or alphabetically. Where two or more applications cannot be separated because the children live an equal distance from the school (including where they live in the same apartment block), the order in which places will be allocated will be determined by the drawing of lots supervised by somebody independent of the Trust and the School.
PAN is inclusive of students with an EHCP admitted pursuant to the school being named in Section I of their EHCP. Multiple birth siblings will be admitted even if a place is not otherwise available, for Year 7 normal round only.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
