Tauheedul Islam Boys' High School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Priority Group A: Looked after / previously looked after Muslim children — Looked after Muslim children or a Muslim child who was previously looked after, but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangement order, or special guardianship order or those Muslim children who appear to the school to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted (see note 1).

10. 10Priority Group B: Children of staff — Children of staff employed at Tauheedul Islam Boys' High School or Tauheedul Islam Boys' Sixth Form College for 2 or more years at the time of application and offer of a place, and / or the member of staff has been recruited to fill a post where there is a demonstrable skill shortage (see note 3).

14. 14Priority Group B: All other children by proximity — All other children who live nearest from home to TIBHS (see note 6).

If two applications tie: Children who live nearest from home to school will receive priority for any criteria that are oversubscribed. If the distance between home and school is the same, which includes the same geographical property reference (such as a block of flats), random allocation is used as a tie-breaker. BwDBC's School Admissions Team will undertake the random allocation process in the presence of a school representative.

Places are split: a maximum of 50% of remaining places (after EHCP) go to Muslim applicants (Priority Group A); remaining places go to all other applicants (Priority Group B) including those refused under Priority Group A. When an odd number of EHCP children are named, the number allocated under Priority Group A is rounded down to the nearest whole child.
