Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Oasis Academy Benson, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Within each of these categories, priority is given to those who live nearest the academy, calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between home and the main entrance of the academy. In a very small number of cases where children live at the same address or at exactly the same distance and no other way of separating applications exists, a computerised system will randomly select the child to be offered the final place.
Children with an Education Health and Care Plan or Statement of Special Educational Needs naming the school are admitted first and have overall priority; this is not an oversubscription criterion. In the event of twins or other multiple birth applicants being final qualifiers, the academy will admit over the Published Admission Number to accommodate them.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
