was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Oasis Academy Hobmoor, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where there are more applications than there are places remaining within a particular category, the direct-line distance from home to school will be used as a tie-break. When the furthest distance to qualify for a place relates to a household containing two or more children for whom applications are made (e.g. twins, triplets etc.), the remaining child will also be offered a place above the PAN if necessary. This would also apply to a brother or sister born in the same academic year. Where two or more children live in a flat or other multi-home dwelling and it is not possible to determine which applicant lives closest to the preferred school as measured in a direct line from building to school, the available place(s) will be allocated by drawing lots.
Admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or Statement of Special Educational Needs naming the school takes place before oversubscription criteria are applied. Nursery PAN is 78 but Nursery admissions are handled separately and are not part of Reception oversubscription criteria. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Birmingham City Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion. | Previously recorded here: Reception offer-day allocation by criterion: Birmingham council primary offers 2026 (distances in metres, straight line).
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
