was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Eden Boys' School, Birmingham, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Children who live nearest from home to school will receive priority for any criteria that are oversubscribed. If the distance between home and school is the same, which includes the same geographical property reference (such as a block of flats), random allocation is used as a tie-breaker. Birmingham City Council's School Admissions Team will undertake the random allocation process in the presence of a school representative at the Council Offices.
Although described as a Muslim faith school, all applications are considered equally without reference to faith. The ward-based criteria (6–10) have capped place numbers; children refused under those criteria fall to criterion 11 (nearest by distance). Distance measured in straight line by Birmingham City Council using Ordnance Survey co-ordinates.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
